Key Responsibilities - Conduct in-depth fundamental research on Japanese listed companies across various sectors to identify investment opportunities and risks.
- Build and maintain financial models to analyze company performance, valuations, and industry trends.
- Generate investment recommendations based on thorough analysis and due diligence.
- Monitor and analyze macroeconomic data and market trends relevant to the Japanese equity market.
- Conduct company meetings and attend industry conferences to gather insights.
- Prepare detailed research reports and presentations for the investment team.
- Maintain a deep understanding of Japanese accounting standards, corporate governance, and regulatory landscape.
- Collaborate effectively with the investment team and contribute to the overall investment process.
Qualifications - Language: Native or near-native fluency in Japanese (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree; CFA designation or progress towards CFA is a plus.
- Experience: 2-5 years of investment research experience at a buy-side or sell-side firm, with a focus on Japanese equities.
- Skills:
- Exceptional analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and investment principles.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough due diligence and generate insightful investment ideas.
- Intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a creative, problem-solving mindset.
