The Senior Derivatives Lead will be responsible for establishing and overseeing exchange-traded derivatives platform within the brokerage business. This senior-level role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in dealing with capital markets products, specifically exchange-traded derivatives (ETDs). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of
regulatory requirements set by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and a strong managerial background.
The candidate must be an appointed representative, authorised to deal in capital markets products in compliance with MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore) regulations.
Responsibilities
• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the strategic vision for the derivatives business, aligning with overall company goals.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with MAS regulations and maintain the company’s status as a licensed entity authorised to deal in capital markets products.
• Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of the derivatives department, including trading activities, risk management and client services.
• Product Development: Expand the range of derivatives products offered, staying ahead of market trends and client needs.
• Risk Management: Implement robust risk management frameworks to monitor and mitigate trading risks.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments such as
Compliance, Legal, IT and Marketing to ensure seamless operations.
• Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in dealing with capital markets products, including ETDs. At least 5 years in a managerial capacity within a retail brokerage or financial institution.
• Regulatory Accreditation: Must be an appointed representative authorised to deal in capital markets products as per MAS requirements.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are advantageous.
• Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of derivatives markets, trading strategies and financial instruments.
• Regulatory Insight: Comprehensive knowledge of MAS regulations and compliance requirements.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
• Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and strategic planning skills with a track record of driving business growth.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with trading platforms, risk management
systems and financial software.
