Position Overview:The
Head of Investment Operations will oversee all aspects of the operational lifecycle for a diverse range of financial products and trading activities in the APAC region. This role requires strategic leadership to optimize operational processes, ensure risk management, and enhance client servicing. You will lead a dynamic team, collaborate closely with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and cross-functional teams globally, and spearhead initiatives to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities: - Leadership & Strategy: Lead the Singapore Investment Operations team, aligning operational objectives with the firm’s strategic goals. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Operational Oversight: Manage end-to-end investment operations, including cash and liquidity management, trade processing, collateral margining, and asset setup.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Client Facing Teams, Custodian Banks, and Brokers to ensure seamless execution of trading activities.
- Risk & Control: Establish robust controls to mitigate operational risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Oversee the resolution of settlement issues, trade discrepancies, and claims.
- Technology & Innovation: Drive automation and process improvement initiatives. Leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
- Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing team. Provide guidance, set performance objectives, and ensure continuous professional development.
Qualifications and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA) is a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in investment operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial products, including fixed income, derivatives, forex, and equities.
- Expertise in cash and collateral management, trade settlement, and asset setup.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with operational tools such as Bloomberg, MarkitWire, DTCC DS Match, and trade order management systems. Knowledge of SQL, Python, and advanced Excel is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin or another Asian language is a plus.
