Multi-Asset class Middle Office Trade Support role.

The Operations team comprises of approximately 40 staff covering a wide range of Middle Office processes. The team supports Equity, Fixed Income, OTC, FX & Listed products.

The overall team look after trade capture & enrichment, affirmation, confirmation, reconciliation, settlement, life cycle management, corporate actions & data maintenance to name many of the tasks covered. Operations are also responsible for the integration of new business projects, business mandates and product development.    
 
    
Role requirements:
 
The key BAU tasks covered in this role (but not limited to) are:
• Operational support for Equity, Fixed Income, OTC, FX & Listed products.
• Resolving trader queries and providing ad hoc reports to traders.
• Working on daily trade/position/cash reconciliations. These could cover internal/external reconciliation liaising with external counterparties and the Administrator. 
• Settlement agreement and payment processing.
• Working on system and process improvements, and new business initiatives as required.
• Work across other Operational teams as required in the context of supporting products covered. 
• Adding value to the business by ensuring that it is properly and securely controlled and risks are hunted out, managed and mitigated or removed. This is to meet the very high levels of confidence in the end results demanded by management and investors.
 
    
Experience required: 
 • Ideal candidate will have relevant industry experience, having a depth of knowledge in one or more products, and as part of that experience working in a high-volume environment. 

• Middle office processing experience is essential, preferably having worked in an Investment Bank or Hedge Fund middle office role. 
 
• Good front-to-back process and systems knowledge therefore advantageous. 
 
• The individual should also be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the control and risk implications of supporting financial products, as well as strong market/product knowledge.
 
• Excel proficiency – use of pivot tables & basic macros required (VBA advantageous), with experience in the analysis of large data sets.
 
    
About you:
The individual should be a self-starter, motivated, flexible and well organised with a keen eye for attention to detail. They should be someone who is keen and comfortable to learn and carry out a process, whilst at the same time looking to question, change and possibly remove that process.
Good communication skills are required in order to be able to communicate with peers as well as senior management alike. Therefore the individual should be able to tailor their communication style accordingly. 
The individual will need to be able to work as part of a team but also have the confidence to work autonomously when required.
