A banking client of ours in midtown is looking for a VP - Relationship Manager for their Corporate Banking Team.

Position: VP - Relationship Manager
Reports to: AMF Team Lead

Overview:
This full-time role focuses on promoting banking products and services to financial institutions within the assigned sector. The position involves managing client relationships, identifying business opportunities, and overseeing risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Business Development and Client Management:
    • Analyze client needs to uncover business opportunities.
    • Target specific clients in accordance with branch policies.
    • Build and maintain relationships, ensuring timely delivery of solutions.
    • Negotiate deal terms and monitor portfolios to meet annual goals.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance client engagement.
  2. Due Diligence and Compliance:
    • Evaluate risks related to money laundering and terrorist financing.
    • Ensure KYC profiles are accurate for all clients.
    • Work with KYC specialists to maintain compliance.
  3. Credit Analysis and Lending:
    • Conduct credit ratings and prepare credit applications.
    • Manage the credit application process in coordination with the Credit Approval Department.
    • Oversee the closing process, ensuring all documentation is compliant.
  4. Credit Monitoring:
    • Perform ongoing credit analysis and risk assessments.
    • Monitor covenants and escalate any issues to portfolio managers.
    • Conduct post-disbursement reviews and generate reports.
  5. Risk Management and Remediation:
    • Implement remediation plans and collaborate with relevant teams.
    • Participate in meetings to uphold risk management accountability.
    • Update internal tracking mechanisms and conduct annual reviews.
  6. Additional Responsibilities:
    • Comply with regulatory policies and engage in training sessions.
    • Support leadership with industry research and reporting.
    • Provide training and guidance to junior team members.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of client-facing experience, ideally in the NBFI sector; experience in fund finance is advantageous.
Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial analysis software.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Compensation Range: $145,000 - $180,000
