A banking client of our is looking for a VP - Relationship Manager for their Financial Institutions division

Position: VP - Relationship Manager
Reports to: AMF Team Lead

Overview:
This full-time position focuses on promoting banking products and services to financial institutions within the assigned sector. The role involves managing client relationships, identifying business opportunities, and overseeing risk management as part of the first line of defense.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Business Development and Client Management:
    • Identify client needs and potential business opportunities through thorough analysis.
    • Solicit targeted clients in line with branch policies and risk appetite.
    • Establish and nurture business relationships, ensuring timely delivery of appropriate solutions.
    • Negotiate deal terms and monitor client portfolios to achieve annual targets.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance client engagement.
  2. Due Diligence and Compliance:
    • Assess money laundering and terrorist financing risks associated with clients.
    • Ensure KYC profiles are accurate and complete for all clients.
    • Coordinate with KYC specialists to maintain compliance with regulations.
  3. Credit Analysis and Lending:
    • Conduct credit ratings, loan classifications, and prepare credit applications.
    • Liaise with the Credit Approval Department to manage the credit application process.
    • Oversee the closing process, ensuring compliance with documentation and funding requirements.
  4. Credit Monitoring:
    • Perform ongoing credit analysis and risk management to mitigate potential risks.
    • Monitor covenants and escalate any breaches to portfolio managers.
    • Conduct post-disbursement reviews and prepare necessary reports.
  5. Risk Management and Remediation:
    • Implement the branch's remediation plans and collaborate with other teams.
    • Participate in meetings and maintain accountability for risk management duties.
    • Keep internal tracking mechanisms updated and perform annual reviews.
  6. Additional Responsibilities:
    • Adhere to regulatory policies and participate in training sessions.
    • Assist leadership with industry research and team reports.
    • Provide training and support to junior staff.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in client-facing roles, preferably within the NBFI sector; fund finance experience is a plus.
Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and time management abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial analysis tools.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Compensation Range: $135,000 - $165,000
